Huntington Packhouse – putting it to use

The beautiful, state-of-the-art vegetable pack house built by the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform as part of its ‘post-settlement support’ programme for the Huntington land claimant community bordering the Sabi Sand has been standing empty and unutilised for years.

The Tourism Conservation Fund, in partnership with local lodge operators, will put it to use as an aggregation and distribution point for small farmers who will supply the lodge economy across the area. Another way TCF is helping to make the wildlife economy work for poor people.
